Happy Pants |
Happy Pants AKA Happy Dog or Booger is an absolutely adorable Pomeranian Chihuahua mix born January of 2010 in Portland, OR. One of Happy's favorite activities involves hiding her bones throughout the house, often she just tucks them under mom or dad's arm or in the corner of the couch and calls it good. She's a very silly girl that enjoys harassing her best boyfriend Charlie Smarty Pants. She loves any and all treats and has so many toys at home, her favorite changes by the day. Happy is named for her outgoing and positive attitude. This pup is always happily grinning from ear to ear. It was love at first sight when her mom went to a rescue facility in search of a companion. Since then she has become such a wonderful and well loved part of the family. With a smile like hers, it's hard not to fall in love with Happy dog!
Bear |
Bear also known as She-Bear is a Labrador Retriever. She was born February 2003 in Vancouver, WA. Bear has attended both daycares for the last 5 years. Her favorite food is any kind of berry and she adores Kongs and soccer. She is very fond of running after the swallows that fly above her. SheBear acquired her name because when she was a puppy she looked like a sweet little bear cub and her at the time 5 year old human brother decided it was the perfect name for her. When SheBear's family is not at home she goes to the master bedroom, gets on the bed and pulls back the bedspread so she can lay on the soft blanket underneath. SheBear's family decided it was time to get a dog when their neighbor's Lab had puppies. As soon as Bear was old enough, they took her home and she has been a wonderful part of the family ever since.
Anubis |
Anubis AKA Nub, Nubi, Nubi-Doo is an ever so curious Doberman Pinscher born May of 2008 in Yachats, OR. He adores T-Bone treats and tennis balls. When he goes to a pet supply store he goes ball crazy and starts kicking them up and down the store. When the family first got Anubis as a pup, his mom realized he closely resembled Anubis, guard of the underworld in Egyptology and decided that was the perfect name for him. Anbuis has been able to open the back door to his house since he was 4months old. Since he has made this discovery, he has decided the door should just stay open all of the time of him. So, when you close the door, he will come in behind you shortly just to open the door again. Anubis' family decided to get another dog and his mom researched Doberman breeders and patiently waited for the right puppy to come along. After the litter was born, the family was so excited they visited the breeder as soon as the puppies were 10 days old. Anubis has been a quirky and fun part of the family ever since he was first able to come home with them.
Lester |
Lester AKA Les or Little Guy is an eager to please Cocker Spaniel born January of 2009 somewhere in California. Lester's favorite treats are Greenie's pill pockets and he just loves anything that squeaks, he often uses his nose to poke toys and other objects to test for squeakiness. One of his favorite activities is going for rides in the car and hanging out of the window to bite the air. Silly little Les likes to carry a plastic water bottle in his mouth while on neighborhood walks. Lester came to his fur-ever home in January of 2010. He wasn't having any luck in California, so the Second Chance Companion program transferred him to Oregon Humane Society where he was soon picked up by his wonderful family. Since then he has become quite the pampered pup!
Vegas |
Vegas – AKA Vegi is a vey fabulous Border Collie born December of 2004 in Portland, OR. She is a huge fan of any type of treats and prefers Kongs and most types of balls to fetch. This little gal is named Vegas because she is a lucky dog and her family feels very lucky to have her! Vegas is a water happy dog, she LOVES playing in the hose and hopping in and out of the pool. She also happens to have an amazing memory and has transitioned well into being a big sister to her human brother, although she still does pout every now and then over no longer being the "baby" of the family. She has been a part of her family since her mom and dad's neighbors dog had a litter of Border Collie pups. They just couldn't say no to such a darling face and couldn't be happier to have such a wonderful pooch.
Sophie |
Sophie is a lovely Vizsla, born on May 27, 2002 in LaGrande, OR. She has been attending A Dog's Life for about 7 years, and is currently at the Westside location. Her formal name is Sophia, Queen of Hearts - for obvious reasons! - but you can call her Sophie Girl. She loves all things peanut butter, especially when it is stuffed in a Kong with other goodies. Her absolute favoritest place in the whole world is the beach, where she can spend hours digging a hole in the sand with her tennis ball at the bottom of the hole. Nope, she's not trying to bury it, just trying to see how far down she can make it go! If she happens to kick it out of the hole, she picks it right up and drops it back in, and keeps on digging. She thinks it's really fun when she digs out from under her dad's sand chair while he's snoozing, and he starts to topple into the hole! Good times!! Being a true Vizsla, she loves to run after a tennis ball or Frisbee at the doggy park or at the beach. She joined her human family when she was 8 weeks old. Her human brother convinced his parents that they should get a dog, so his parents gave him the project to go to the library and research what breed of dog would be a good fit for the family. When he saw a picture and description of a Vizsla, he knew he had found the most perfect breed in the world! As it turned out, a few days later mom found an ad in the newspaper for Vizsla puppies. When we met, Sophie was busy stealing toys from another dog’s toy bin, and stole her human family's hearts as well.
