Ginger |
Ginger aka G, G-pup, Gingie or Mouse (due to her being 40lbs of scaredy-dog) is an energetic little Dutch Shepherd that was born September of 2008, somewhere on this big planet Earth. Her favorite treats are Frosty Paws. Some of Ginger’s favorite past times are chasing balls, flashlights, the wheel barrow and the leaf blower, as well as trying to catch water as it shoots from the hose. A few months after their beloved senior dog had passed away, Ginger’s family went looking for someone to share their home with. They preferred a housed trained adult, and it didn’t take long for a family member found this little spit fire on petfinder.com. Someone had taken her in as a stray and kept her for a month before surrendering her to the shelter. When they went down to meet her, she was on her very worst behavior, but as soon as they touched her through the gate, she absolutely melted. Originally, her name was “Mena” but it wasn’t very suiting for her. The family had a name-generating session during which mom finally suggested “Ginger.” It reminded her of gingerbread, which is similar to Ginger’s coloring and her also described her reluctant attitude towards new life experiences. “Ginger” is very ginger when it comes to trying something new.
Jack |
Jack aka Mr. Pickles, Von Doodles, Beagle Juice, Beags or Moncheechee is a chipper little Beagle born in North Bend, OR during November of 2008. He is a total chow hound, but his favorite treats are grilled chicken and bacon salad, beef and grave, and kibble with sausage mixed in. Although he just got a new ipod for Christmas, his favorite toy is still his trusty tennis ball. His favorite activity is having dinner with friends, or play dates with his numerous girlfriends at daycare. When his parents were looking for a spunky little fur person to share their home with, Jack had his bags packed and was ready for a fresh start in Vancouver, so they readily adopted him. His sunny disposition reminded his mom and dad of Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey, which makes them happy, hence how he came by the name Jack. He’s a silly little guy who burps, howls in his sleep, hardly ever barks when he’s awake and is quite the smooth operator.
Keva |
Keva aka Keev, Big Lunker or Fartles is a very happy Boxer born in Vancouver, WA on Valentine’s Day, 2008. Her favorite treats are cheese, peanut butter and bones, she’s not picky about her toys, anything she picks out of her toy box that her family will play with her with is her favorite toy. She is a dog park enthusiast/fanatic. Miss Keva is a silly girl, she has a variety of interesting habits; she will flap her ears as soon as she gets up, she paws at you so she can crawl under the covers first thing in the morning while her people are still sleeping, she runs endless circles in the dog park and tries to bury bones in the couch cushion. Keva started out life named Juneau, but that wasn’t a very suitable name for a Boxer. Her human sister who was 6 years old at the time, wanted a delicate name like Rosebud or Buttercup. As young Keva grow older, the family decided they felt too silly calling out those names out at the dog park. So they did some research, being an Irish family, they found a Gaelic named that was more fitting, Keva translates to beautiful and gentle. It wasn’t a tough sell mom and dad presented the name to their young daughter. Keva was a spur of the moment decision, one morning during coffee, mom and dad decided they were ready for a dog. They grabbed the paper, called the breeder and arrived so early, they had pick of the litter. They met her biological parents, talked to the breeder for about half an hour and watched the littermates interact. In the end, Keva was clearly the puppy for them.
Sophia |
Sophia aka Sophie or Miss Loren (after the ultra chic actress) is a loveable Labrador Retriever born September of 2007 in Vancouver, WA. Sophie is on a diet, so right now she really loves carrots and apples, she has a stuffed monkey and stuffed Santa Claus that she cannot live without. Her favorite activities include swimming, running along side mom and dad while they ride bikes and being a flirty little minx at the daycare. Like many of our daycare dogs, she has a silly side, she can often be spotted sleeping on her back with all fours in the air. She became a member of the family when her dad to be was working on a job site where the owners had just had a litter of 14 black Lab puppies, he couldn’t resist taking one home as the job came to an end. Sophia’s family is Italian who decided she needed a strong, feminine Italian name.
