Lady aka “Ladybug” or “Scooter” is a Cocker Spaniel, and she was born June 2007 in Happy Valley, Oregon. Lady has been attending the Eastside location since 2009.
Lady favorite food are Beggin Strips, rawhide chewies, and anything her mama is eating . Her favorite toy is a stuffed bear that came from the Dollar Store,(Lady is not one of those “Diva” dogs that need high-end toys) Her favorite activity is daycare, of course! Lady’s mom wished she had a great story as to how Lady got her name, but she stole it from the Disney cartoon, “Lady and the Tramp.” She had wanted a Cocker since she was a little girl that she could name her “Lady”.
When mom takes her for walks around the neighborhood, Lady sticks her nose to the ground like she is a crime scene investigator looking for clues and just when she’s on the “trail”, she will walk into a parked car or she will fall off the sidewalk.
If mom leaves Lady at home during the day, this gal must have a treat before or she will stand on the couch and howl until mom come back in and give her something.
Lady is also mom’s little shadow and follows her around the house from room to room. Even if she is sound asleep on the couch, as soon as mom moves, she is right behind her checking out to see what she is doing.
Lady’s mom started doing research on Cocker Spaniel puppies and found a show dog breeder in Clackamas that was expecting a litter. Mom was able to take a look at the puppies when they were born and even though I didn’t get a choice of which one she could take home, she feels very fortunate to have Lady as her pride and joy.

Berend aka Bear is a big, bouncy Bouviers des Flandres and was born on January 29, 2008 in Brush Prairie, WA. Berend has been attending the Eastside location since 2008 when he was just a wee, brindle little fuzz ball. He was literally just ears and fuzz. His favorite treats are Dingo Rawhides and stinky Lamb Jerky. His favorite toys are balls – any kind as long as they fit in his mouth, and he also loves to play with empty food bowls. His favorite activity is playing chase.
This plucky pup acquired his name from his looks, Berend means Bear brave, brave like a bear .and he just a big lovable bear.
Berend loves to herd the 3 cats around the house. Also, if he is standing or sitting, he has to rest his head on something, like his head is to heavy to hold up.
Berend became part of his family when they met a lady whose Bouviers des Flandres was expecting a litter soon. His people parents were ecstatic while they received details of the labor and birth. They just loved being able to watch Berend and his siblings go through their puppy stages.

Zoe was adopted from the Oregon Humane Society at approximately 9 months in May 2001. Zoe has been attending the West facility since 2007. Her favorite treats are greenies and her favorite toy is her Zanies squeaker. Zoe’s favorite activities are playing with the cat and herding dogs at daycare. If there was one word to describe Zoe, it would be “Energetic”, this little lady is always alert and on the go! We would also say she is a daddy’s girl, she zips and zooms and barks as soon as she sees him coming to pick her up from daycare. Zoe is most content chasing her cat until they fall asleep together. Zoe’s family say it was love at first site when they met this stubby little lady back at the shelter.

Jack is a dainty and excitable little Basenji and he was born (approximately) October, 2001. He has been attending the East location since 2006. Jack’s favorite treats are Trader Joe’s dog treats and any type of meat. He loves to play with his rope toy and any clothes of mom and dad’s that are lying about. His favorite activity is running with other dogs. Jack was given his name by his original owner and his mom and dad decided to stick with it. Jack likes to lie with his front paws crossed. Since his breed does not bark, he likes to make high pitched noises and yodel. His parents adopted him from a couple that lived in a small apartment in Portland that was inadequate for Jack to be confined in all day and decided to re-home him. Jack’s new parents saw the ad and responded to it because they had, had two Basenji’s in the past.

Murphy is a Golden Doodle that the girls at daycare have nicknamed “Muprhles”, mainly to set him apart from the other Murphy’s, but also because he is a silly boy. He was born in a puppy mill April of 2006 and began daycare in 2007. His favorite food is pepperoni and his favorite toy is his stuffed squirrel. His favorite activity is getting down and dirty playing with other dogs. He is a wild animal at times! When his current family met him, he was already named Murphy and was living with an elderly couple who could not keep up with his exercise needs. This guy is a bundle of energy! Murphy has a funny habit of barreling towards the front door any time he is asked if he wants to go to doggy daycare. We just hope he still wants to visit after his family finds the right sister to adopt for him! Boy oh boy, does this guy love the lady Golden Doodles!
